BS Four-Year Degree Plan: Design and Product Development

The four-year degree plan was created to demonstrate that it is possible for a student to graduate in four years. The four-year degree option can be completed in eight regular semesters (with one summer internship). Students in MFD are encouraged to complete their programs within four years.

The four-year degree plan assumes the following:

  • No remedial coursework is required
  • The student does not fail any classes and earns a grade of "C" or better in all MFD course work
  • The student does not change minors
  • The student is willing to take an internship during one summer

Also, a four-year degree plan does not take into account dual credit or transfer credit that a student may bring with him or her upon admission to the University. Make an appointment with an academic advisor to discuss schedules and options.

Check out the course rotation before scheduling your classes.

After your sixth semester, be sure to take MFD 402: Internship in Fashion Design. Successful completion of an internship is required to fulfill degree requirements.

This is a model four year degree plan. Your path to graduation may vary slightly based on factors such as college credit you earned while in high school, your choice of general education electives, and placement in English and Mathematics.

This degree program can be completed in eight semesters.

The following degree plan is based on the general education program instituted in fall 2014. For the previous general education requirements, please access these Student Transition Resources.
