Program Requirements

The respiratory therapy program is comprehensive. No minor is required.

The curriculum requires 90 university-level credit hours, plus completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program (35 hours).

Respiratory Therapy (Comprehensive)

Bachelor of Science

Major requirements:

Eligibility for admission to this program is limited to those persons who have completed a registry level program in Respiratory Therapy. This program is intended for those who are seeking career enhancement in the field of Respiratory Therapy.

Major core (69 hours):

Note: 11-14 hours may double count in General Education requirements.

  1. Specific General Education requirements: BIO 121(4) or BMS 110(3) and 111(1); PHY 123(4); PSY 121(3).
  2. BMS 307(4), 308(4), 561(4); BIO 212(2) and 213(1); ACC 201(3) or ECO 155(3)*; CHM 116(4) and 117(1) or CHM 160(4) and 161(1).
    * May double count in General Education requirements.
  3. Completion of a registry level program in Respiratory Therapy. 12 hours of lower division and 23 hours of upper division transfer credit will be awarded.
Complete one of the following options:
Education option (16-18 hours):
  1. PSY 390(3), SEC 300(2), SEC 301(2), EDT 565(3), SFR 396(2).
  2. Two courses from: PSY 441(3); SFR 250(3) or 353(2) or 354(2); SFR 547(2).
Management option (15 hours):
  1. ECO 155(3); MGT 340(3), MGT 341(3).
  2. Two courses from: ACC 211(3); MGT 345(3), MKT 367(3), MKT 368(3); QBA 237(3).
Science option (14 hours):
  1. MTH 340(3).
  2. 11 hours of electives selected with approval of advisor.
