Transfer Students

Finding financial assistance

As a transfer student, you are eligible for a number of financial aid opportunities at Missouri State. In fact, about 75 percent of our students receive some type of financial assistance.

The first step to be considered for financial aid, including scholarships, is to be admitted. We encourage you to begin the admission process at least two semesters prior to entering Missouri State. To begin the transfer process, speak with a transfer advisor in the Office of Admissions.

Tips for success

  • Complete the FAFSA every year you want to receive financial aid by our February 1 priority deadline. Be sure to add our school code (002503) to your FAFSA.
  • Use our Transfer Student Financial Aid Checklist to ensure that you transfer your financial aid successfully.
  • Never pay money to get money for college.
  • Be proactive by asking questions. Counselors are available year-round to discuss your costs and aid eligibility.

Missouri State offers a number of scholarship opportunities perfect for transfer students. Transfer students are also encouraged to apply for scholarships privately-funded through the Foundation. We recommend that you begin the scholarship application process by completing your FAFSA.
