Each of the Heads described opening of semester issues including the increasing advisement load from transfer students, shifts in classrooms, and efforts to accommodate late registrants.
Planning for summer and fall 2011 course schedule (including Intersessions) should begin with a first draft schedule delivered to the Dean’s office by November 15th. The Heads were warned that centralized scheduling of large classrooms (those holding 80 and above) will occur beginning in fall 2011 and they should plan accordingly.
Public Affairs Intensive experience in the major – once CGEIP has passed a set of criteria the departments will submit their proposals to College Council.
Assessment Plans for each degree must be revised and submitted by January 1, 2011. The expectation is that the FCTL will provide assistance and guidance with this process.
College Budget Committee – once clear directions are given to the Deans about how to form these committees, they will be asked to meet regularly to examine the College budget process and make recommendations on how to deal with the expected budget cuts for FY12.
