- March 30 – Tenure and Promotion Personnel Action Forms due to Provost
- March 31 – Development Workshop, 8:30-11:00 am, PSU 313
- March 31 – Symposium: Southeast Asia: Issues & Trends in Research, 3:30-5:00 pm, STRO 003
- March 31 – Initiate discussions on External Review Letters for 2009-10 T & P application process

IRB compliance -- for those faculty and students who are planning to do research involving human subjects, they must first receive approval of their project by the Institutional Review Board. Mike Stout (SOC) is the CHPA member of the board and is available to answer questions and give advice on submitting a proposal.
CSII and development of workshops and courses by CHPA faculty -- the Community and Social Issues Institute, headed by Jim Baker and Bernie McCarthy serves as a catalyst to organize and apply the research and service capacity of the University to assist public and private organizations as they address significant social issues facing the many communities served by Missouri State University. Departments and faculty are encouraged to contact the Institute will projects that can advance this purpose and serve the interests of the college to increase its level of community outreach.
WIN Strut -- Pam Sailors (PHI) is serving as the "captain" of the CHPA team. The Bee Payne-Stewart Strut is a 1.4 mile walk through downtown Springfield that benefits women’s athletics programs at Drury, Evangel, and Missouri State , as well as the Springfield-Greene County Park youth programs and the Women’s Intersports Network. This is the third year for the event, which will take place on April 25, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The team that raises the most money during this event on April 26th for women's athletics will receive funding for a college scholarship. Promotion and Tenure process for 2009-2010 -- The Heads were asked to supply the names of faculty who intend to apply for promotion and/or tenure in 2009-2010. A list of potential external reviewers must also be compiled and submitted to the Dean.
Student Success Survey -- The CHPA Student Success Survey will be opened to our majors immediately after Spring Break and will be open for a three week period of participation. Heads are asked to email all of their majors with the link to the survey. Faculty are encouraged to mention the survey in their classes.
Hiring update -- A brief update of hiring brought the news that the search for an African Historian was now complete and that the search for a position in Economics was in its final stages. The Political Science search is about to invite candidates to campus and the search for a new Head in Criminology is about to identity a short list for consideration.
