The College of Humanities and Public Affairs received three new scholarship endowments this past fall semester. We want to thank the donors for their generous support of Missouri State University.
Gerald “Pete” McCormick Memorial History Scholarship – Barbara McCormick (’69, Sociology) of Claremont, Calif. has established an endowed scholarship in memory of her late husband “Pete” (67, History). The scholarship will continue one of Pete’s passions in life, civil war history. The scholarship is available to undergraduate students majoring in History with an interest in civil war or military history. Preference will be given to applicants with financial need.
Women in Religious Studies Scholarship – Mary (’73, Elem. Ed.) and Mike Chiles of Springfield have established an endowed scholarship in the Religious Studies department. The intent of the scholarship is to encourage female students in the academic study of religion. The scholarship will be available to applicants majoring in Religious Studies at the undergraduate level, enrolled in the Religious Studies graduate program, or a declared minor in Religious Studies with preference given to female students
Scott and Gayla Moore Economics Scholarship – Scott (’92, Economics) and Gayla Moore of Edwardsville, Ill. have endowed a scholarship in the Economics department. The scholarship will be available to a sophomore, junior, or senior majoring in Economics with a minimum 3.00 grade point average. Preference will be given to applicants with financial need.
