The department has a strong emphasis on visiting medical and clinical facilities to explore possible career and pre-professional opportunities. Students in all programs will have a chance to learn from professionals about the advances in the human health field. Clinical laboratory science, dietetics and nurse anesthesia all require clinical training to complete the program of study.
Teaching the community helpful information in health-related research and topics is important to the biomedical sciences department. Students in the department are also encouraged to volunteer and boost their professional or educational program applications. Programs sponsored by the department include presentations at the Discovery Center and Expanding Horizons program. The dietetics program also participates in many volunteer activities including but not limited to, Ozark’s Food Harvest and Crosslines.
