A flexible path to language proficiency

The Bachelor of Science in Modern Language allows you to study at least one modern language and learn about the cultural factors that affect language – all while gaining advanced proficiency.

Language areas

You may choose to focus on one or more of the following:

Focus on Chinese language and culture.
Focus on French language and culture.
Focus on German language and culture.
Focus on Japanese language and culture.
Focus on Spanish language and culture.

Degree options

If you pursue the comprehensive Bachelor of Science, you'll focus on one of the following track options: second language, translation, applied business or teacher certification.

 

If you select the non-comprehensive Bachelor of Science, you will customize your studies by choosing a minor.

Teacher Education program

LCR has a DESE-approved Teacher Education program which can lead to certification in the following languages: Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Latin, and Spanish.
