Dr. James D. Philpot

Biography

Dr. James Philpot is associate professor in the department of finance and general business. He directs the department's financial planning major program. He holds a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Arkansas and is a Certified Financial Planner.

Philpot has published in Financial Review, Managerial Finance, Financial Services Review, Journal of Financial Education, Financial Practice and Education, Journal of Business Ethics, Corporate Governance and other journals. He was president of the Southwestern Finance Association in 2010-2011 and is currently president of Arkansas Farms Inc., a closely held agribusiness. Previously, he held the Regions Bank Chair of Finance at Ouachita Baptist University.
