Connecting with Missouri State resources
Each department and academic program has a specific transfer advisor to help you understand our program requirements, review your transfer credit and ease your transition to Missouri State.
You will be asked to schedule an appointment with your academic area’s transfer advisor upon admittance to Missouri State. This meeting will help you develop an academic plan and determine the appropriate classes for your first semester at MSU. You must meet with an advisor to register for classes.
Transfer advisors by program
If you know your major, contact the transfer advisor assigned to work with students in that program from the list of transfer advisors.
If you are trying to decide among several major options or have not declared a major, contact the transfer advisor for undeclared students by calling the Academic Advising and Transfer Center at 417-836-5258.
Undeclared students age 24 or older
Adult student services assists nontraditional students balance family, work and school responsibilities. Advisement appointments can be scheduled by calling 417-836-6929.
Business transfer advisors
If you are interested in a major in the College of Business, contact the Business Advisement Center at 417-836-5386 to schedule an appointment.
Education transfer advisors
The Education Advisement Center meets with transfer students interested in:
- Child and family development
- Early childhood education - birth to grade 3
- Elementary education - grades 1-6
- Family and consumer sciences education
- Middle school education - grades 5-9
- Special education - grades K-12
If you are interested in secondary education (grades 9-12) and have an idea on the subject area you would like to teach, contact the appropriate department by using the list of transfer advisors.
