Why did you choose to attend Missouri State-West Plains?

I chose MSU-WP for its small class sizes, affordable price, and because it is close to home.

How would you describe your experience here?

I feel like I have received a top-notch education here. Everyone I have met on campus is willing to help and genuinely cares about students’ success.

What has been your favorite thing about Missouri State-West Plains?

So many things. The education I have received, the people I’ve met, the friendships I’ve made along the way, The list goes on and on.

What has been your favorite course? And why?

All the nursing classes I have taken. The teachers have hands-on experience, give real life examples, and I feel as if they have truly been preparing me to become the best nurse I can be.

How have faculty and staff helped you during your time at Missouri State-West Plains?

Mrs. Ackerson (and the entire nursing department) are always so willing to answer any questions and help find solutions to any problems you may be having. A huge shout out to Marcie Bean, as well, for being able to solve nearly any problem and, if she can’t, knowing who to contact to get it fixed.

How did you choose your major?

I am already a licensed massage therapist, so I knew that I wanted to work in a healthcare related field. I love caring for others and I knew I wanted a career with growth opportunity and flexibility. Nursing fit perfect.

What have you learned from the nursing department that will help you succeed in your education, career or life?

I have learned the nursing skills that will allow me to give the best care that I can for my future patients.

What are your plans after graduation?

I plan to become a registered nurse and work at a local hospital after graduating. I also intend to obtain my BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) and possibly my MSN (Master of Science in Nursing) in the future.
