GENERAL FUNCTION

The Resource Coordinator, MMP is responsible for assisting the Program Coordinator, MMP with the Worksite and Young Parent Programs.  The Resource Coordinator, MMP primarily works with the Worksite program supporting participants 15 ½ to 26 years of age in meeting the goal of obtaining and retaining mentored employment.  The Resource Coordinator, MMP recruits and retains MMP corporate partners, arranges and facilitates pre-employment job readiness classes, and establishes worksite mentor/mentee relationship matches.  The Resource Coordinator, MMP assists the Program Coordinator, MMP in supervising graduate assistants who serve as case managers.

The Missouri Mentoring Partnership is a grant-funded program and employment is dependent on continued grant funding.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or other human services field, Human Resource Management, Public or Business Administration, or Marketing is preferred.

Experience: Experience in teen outreach and programming, job development and placement, group facilitation, community and outreach is preferred.  

Skills: Knowledge of local community, social services, and non-profit resources is preferred. Computer literacy and the ability to use the internet and Microsoft Office applications are required. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required. A record of inclusive conduct and evidence of multicultural skills in the workplace is preferred.

Other: Some travel may be required to fulfill job responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Helps to ensure the involvement of the community by assisting in the recruitment and
maintenance of corporate partners to participate in the MMP Worksite program by creating and distributing program information, visiting businesses, job fairs, doing internet searches, advertising, and performing other research as needed.

2. Assists in the recruitment of eligible participants for the Worksite program by distributing program information and making presentations to partner agencies and community organizations.

3. Helps to ensure the effectiveness of the mentoring relationship by assisting in the development and implementation of mentor orientation and training.  

4. Helps facilitate Worksite mentor/mentee relationships by monitoring matches and participant job performance at least monthly or per program policy.

5. Maintains monthly contact with corporate partners and generates a list of appropriate job opportunities for participants with corporate partners.

6. Helps to ensure the program’s success by assisting the Program Coordinator, MMP in utilizing proper screening procedures to assess the suitability of prospective mentors and program participants, assisting in planning, scheduling, and facilitating mentor/mentee support groups as needed, and, if so directed, assisting in participating in program planning and development.

7. Helps to assure sound fiscal management by assisting in the maintenance of sound
documentation.

8. Assists with program evaluation of outcomes by maintaining a database of information and records of youth referrals, corporate partners, referral agencies, and designated program mentor participation, as requested by the Program Coordinator, MMP.

9. If so directed, helps to assure the program is meeting its goals and agencies’ needs by attending and scheduling regular meetings with the Missouri State University Director, School of Social Work, Missouri Family and Community Trust (FACT), the Department of Social Services (DSS), CD, DYS, and/or other fiscal agent administrators to provide program updates, plan future development, and discuss pertinent issues.

10. Utilizes established services, materials, programs, and other available resources by working with other Missouri State University units.

11. Engages in ethical and fair treatment of participants in the program by interacting
appropriately with appropriate boundaries and maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality.

12. Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

13. Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as directed by the Program Coordinator, MMP.

14. Helps to ensure the overall success of the Missouri Mentoring Partnership by performing all other duties as directed.

SUPERVISION

The Resource Coordinator, MMP is supervised by the Program Coordinator, MMP and assists the Program Coordinator in the supervision of graduate assistants serving as case managers.
