Financial Planning

This provides the opportunity for non-Financial Planning majors to gain knowledge of the financial planning industry. The certificate will be useful to both current students pursuing another major and individuals who have already graduated. Upon successful completion of the certificate individuals will have the ability to sit for the CFP® Exam.

Program restriction

This certificate is only available to students who are not majoring in Finance with an option in Financial Planning.

Program requirements (18 hours)

  1. ACC 321(3), FIN 381(3), FIN 485(3); FIN 538/RMI 538(3) or ACC 524(3); FIN 581(3), RMI 314(3).
  2. All candidates must satisfy the General University Certificate Requirements.

Completion requirement

Attain a grade of C or better in all courses used to fulfill the certificate requirements.
