Subject: Springfield issues stay-at-home order

Today it was announced that the City of Springfield and Greene County have imposed a stay-at-home order.

The university has already taken steps for employees who can perform their jobs remotely to work from home.

Tomorrow we will introduce a COVID-19 Work and Compensation Policy that will address employee work structure and pay during this time. Faculty and staff will receive a Missouri State Alert announcing this policy.

Students may continue to move out of their residence halls. We encourage you to use the form available on the Residence Life website to communicate your arrival. More information for students regarding academic information, commencement, etc. will be sent on Friday, March 27.

While these are challenging times, it is important to follow the stay-at-home guidelines in order to promote a safer environment for all of Springfield and enable us to return to normal operations as swiftly as we can.
