President's Email to Employees (August 21)

The following email was sent to Missouri State employees on August 21, 2020.

Subject: Thanks. We made it through the first week.

Good afternoon.

As we close out the first week of the fall 2020 semester, I want to thank everyone for all the really great work that has been done to get us here. From those working in Magers Health and Wellness, residence life, custodial services and international services, to those teaching classes and everyone else, we couldn’t be where we are without you.

These are challenging times. I can say I am officially tired of the word, “pivot.” All this pivoting has been exhausting for all of us. I appreciate how everyone has responded so positively and effectively as we pivoted many times over the last month.

I have also been amazed and proud of our students and their diligence in masking on campus. It’s a group effort that is dependent on everyone participating 100%. Their compliance with this directive helps keep us well.

We have 15 more weeks. Continue to be kind and patient with one another, our students and our leadership team. I really believe we can do this if we work together.

Thanks for all you do.
