Email to Campus Community (March 3)

The following email was sent to the Missouri State community on March 3, 2021.

Subject: Sign up to be notified when COVID-19 vaccines are available

Missouri State University expects to receive additional Pfizer vaccine next week. In order to prepare for this and future shipments, we are asking for anyone who is interested in receiving a vaccine to complete the Vaccination Interest Form.

To allow us to project future needs, we encourage everyone to complete the form, whether they are currently eligible or not.

Household members should also complete the interest form if they are interested in receiving a vaccine in the future.

This will allow the university to notify those who are eligible when we are ready to schedule appointments at Magers Health and Wellness Center.

Currently those eligible to be vaccinated include healthcare providers, first responders and high-risk individuals – which includes those age 65 years old or older OR any adult with a qualifying health condition.

Qualifying health conditions include:

  • Cancer
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Chronic obstructed pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Heart conditions
  • Weakened immune system due to organ transplant
  • Severe obesity (BMI >40)
  • Pregnancy
  • Sickle cell disease
  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus
  • Intellectual and/or developmental disabilities such as Down Syndrome

Once we have the notification list and we have the vaccination schedule prepared, we will notify the qualified individuals to schedule at Magers.

Supervisors, please communicate this information to those who don’t have regular access to a computer.
