Into the Streets Event Information

September 17th, 2016

ITS 2009 5

Into the Streets at Missouri State is the first large-scale service event of the semester! This annual program features community service opportunities for hundreds of students. Get out into our community and serve alongside local agencies! Through this program, Missouri State students will be actively involved in one of our Public Affairs Pillars, Community Engagement.

What is a better way to spend a Saturday than serving with friends, making new friends, volunteering, and making a difference in the lives of others?

On September 17, we had a great end to Public Affairs Week 2016 with Into the Streets Service Day! 220 Missouri State students and alumni served 880 hours in the community - fantastic way service and learning happening today! Check out information and pictures here

Ready to sign up for one of these awesome day of service in Springfield? Go into the streets with fellow Bears! There's nothing better than serving with friends... sign up with a group, or go solo and meet some cool new people. Open to all Missouri State students, faculty and staff.

We will meet in the Plaster Student Union Ballroom at 8a.m. for registration. Find your group! At 8:45, groups will leave for service.  We will serve from 9a.m. to 1p.m.  After service is complete, groups will reflect together.

Site Leaders are responsible for leading a group of 5-20 students to a pre-arranged service site and conducting a debriefing wrap up and reflection after service for Into the Streets Service Day. You will be given agency contact information and reflection materials during Site Leader Training. All Site Leaders must attend Site Leader Training before Into the Streets.
