Graduate Advisement

How do you get a graduate advisor?

The director of your graduate program serves as your advisor.

Once you’re admitted into your program, meet with your advisor/director to discuss your career and education goals.

Your advisor can help you plan your schedule and choose the right courses.

Meeting with your advisor

Two things to know:

  • You must receive your advisor’s approval before enrolling for classes each semester.
  • In addition to meeting with your advisor, you must also submit an advisor-approved Plan of Study form.

The Plan of Study form outlines the courses you plan to take to complete your degree or certificate. Return the form to your advisor before you complete 15 hours.
