Jump START (Summer Transition and Academic Readiness Training)

What is Jump START?

The Jump START program allows students who do not meet admission criteria for the fall semester an opportunity to prove themselves academically by enrolling in this summer program. If successful, students are allowed to continue conditionally in the fall. This program brings together academic resources, co-curricular activities, campus involvement, and a 7-credit hour course load.

Who can participate?

The Jump START program is for high school students graduating during the spring semester, but do not meet traditional Missouri State University freshman admission criteria based on GPA, class rank, or test scores. This program requires that participants do meet the core curriculum portion of the Missouri State University admission requirements.

"Jump START was one of the best decisions I have made. I got a great head start on my academics, and it really prepared me for college. I also made a lot of close friends throughout the eight weeks of being on campus."
