Graduate Assistantships

The School of Accountancy offers a limited number of graduate assistantship positions each year. Each graduate assistant is assigned to a faculty member to support his/her academic and research pursuits. Accounting graduate students are also eligible for and often placed in assistantship positions across the University, including within the College of Business and the office of financial services. Eligibility

To be eligible for a graduate assistantship, you must be admitted to a graduate program at Missouri State and must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on the last 60 hours of undergraduate course work or a minimum GPA of 3.0 on nine or more hours of your most recent graduate course work.

Benefits

The graduate assistantship provides a stipend for the nine-month academic year and a tuition scholarship for up to 12 credit hours of course work for both the fall and spring semesters. In addition, students who have served as assistants for both the fall and spring semesters are eligible to receive a scholarship for up to six hours of graduate course work for the following summer semester. A graduate assistant is required to complete a minimum of six hours of graduate course work (600-700 level) during the fall and spring semesters, and three hours of graduate course work during the summer semester.
