It’s best to have all pre-nursing course work completed or in progress when you apply
to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
If accepted into the BSN program, your schedule will include your remaining prerequisites.
Four-year BSN prerequisites from Ozarks Technical Community College
Take the following courses, which will transfer and fulfill part of your BSN major
requirements. Also, meet with a Missouri State transfer advisor early in your college
career to determine other appropriate course work for your academic goals.

- You’re not required to take GEP 101/UHC 110 at Missouri State if you complete 24 college
credits post-high school.
- BIO 121 is a prerequisite to Anatomy and Physiology at Missouri State. This course
may not be a prerequisite of OTC’s Anatomy and Physiology, thus it is not required
for entrance into the BSN program at MSU.
- CHM 160 is the recommended chemistry course for entrance into the BSN program. Note:
CHM 160 does not meet the Physical Science requirement for General Education. You
can take CHM 116 to meet both general education requirements and BSN prerequisites.
- BCS 145 and BCS 146 is equivalent to MSU elective BMS 000. BCS 165 and BCS 205 are
encouraged, as they allow you to change your major at Missouri State and are easily
transferable to other BSN programs. Missouri State’s School of Nursing will accept
BCS 145 and BCS 146, but it’s recommended to verify the acceptance of these courses
if you apply to other programs.
