MoState Access Award

Due to delays with the FAFSA Simplification process, Missouri State University has extended the Priority Filing Deadline to May 1, 2024. Complete your FAFSA before May 1 to qualify for the Mo State Access Award and to maximize your financial aid eligibility.

Once FAFSA data is released to us, we are committed to sharing financial aid information as soon as possible.

The MoState Access Award is designed to ensure that cost does not prevent Missouri students from completing a degree.

$0 Tuition and Fees

The MoState Access Award pays for what other scholarships and grants don't. That means qualified students could pay exactly $0 in tuition and fees.

No tuition and fees?

Under MoState Access, eligible students will pay no tuition and fees after federal, state, and institutional grants and scholarships are first applied.

This means that this award covers any gap between a student's tuition and fees and their total federal, state, and institutional grant and scholarship aid.

Award requirements

How to qualify

To earn the MoState Access Award, students must complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by May 1 each year they are in school. Students do not need to fill out any additional forms or applications other than the FAFSA to be automatically considered for the MoState Access Award.

Additionally, students must be:

  • An incoming freshman or new transfer student.
  • Apply for admission no later than June 1.
    • For spring term admits, this deadline is December 1.
  • A Missouri resident.
  • A U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  • Eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant.
  • Unmet financial need, as determined by the FAFSA.
  • Seeking an undergraduate degree.
  • Enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours).

Students who have all their tuition and fees covered through Pell, Access Missouri, or other traditional institutional scholarships will not receive the MoState Access Award. Any FAFSA revisions resulting in Pell Grant eligibility must be received no later than July 31 to qualify.
