PHP is a popular open-source programming language used primarily for developing server-side application and dynamic web content. PHP is offered as an alternative to the ASP or ASP.Net web programming environment.
PHP 5 is available on student and faculty/staff personal and course websites as well as on any site which did not have PHP content prior to December 2007. Other sites hosted on the central web servers with existing PHP content will be upgraded to PHP 5 during the Spring 2008 semester. See PHP 5 Upgrade for more information.
