Obtaining Video

From a DVD

To rip a movie from a DVD, you should use a program such as Handbrake, MPEG-Streamclip or Magic DVD Ripper, all of which can rip a DVD movie into multiple video formats.

Please ensure that the University owns the copyright to whatever video material you are ripping from a DVD.

From a video file

If you already have a video file on your computer, it is best to first convert it to the proper format before uploading the file. Both MPEG-Streamclip and Handbrake can be used for this purpose.
