Expression Web 4 and WebDAV

  • Edit Live Site

  • Edit Local Copy

    1. Open Expression Web 4.
    2. Click on Site in the top menu area, and select Open Site.
    3. In the Location field enter your WebDAV address, click Open.
    4. Double click on the file you would like to edit.
    5. Click Save when you are ready for the edits to go live.
  • This option allows you to edit local copies on your machine, then upload when you are ready for the edits to be on the live site.

    1. Open Expression Web 4.
    2. Click on Site in the top menu area, click on Import, followed by Import Site Wizard.
      The Import Site Wizard window will open up.
    3. Select WebDAV as the Connection Type.
    4. In the Location field enter your WebDAV address, click Next.
    5. Select Include subsites if you have folders within your WebDAV page.
    6. Click Next
    7. Select Browse, and select a folder on your computer for the local copy to be stored at while you work on the site. Click Open.
    8. Click Next, and click Finish on the next screen.
    9. Select the files from your live site (on the right) that you would like to edit and click the arrow pointing to the left to create the local copy.

    To edit the site

    1. Double click on the file in the left column (local copy) you would like to edit.
    2. When you are finished editing, click Save.

    To publish the Local Copy files

    1. Go to the Site View tab.
    2. Select the files in the left that you would like to publish to your live site.
    3. Click the arrow pointing to the right.
