The Web Developers Users' Group met on April 24, 2003, at 9:30 AM in the Parliamentary Room, PSU 313.

Web Services

Sara Clark, Web Coordinator, announced the Web Services team is now ready to take job requests. They are available for:

  • Web form creation in Acrobat or HTML, depending on client needs
  • Web site development, including design and conversion
  • Programming for dynamic web applications and projects

The Web Services team is much like Printing Services and charges $40 per hour for development. Any web form job that takes less than fifteen minutes will be free of charge. They will not charge for any meetings or time spent learning new software or programming techniques. More information can be found on the Web Services web site.

Using the Missouri State templates

Sara brought up various tips and tricks for using the Missouri State templates. She demonstrated or explained the following:

  • Using the Missouri State theme for automatic page formatting
  • Turning shared borders on and off on specific pages
  • Making the templates printer friendly
  • How to use alternate templates for specific pages
  • Using navigation structure in FrontPage to create site navigation
  • Adding external web sites to the navigation structure
  • Creating more than one link to a page in the navigation structure
  • Using the recalculate hyperlinks feature
  • Using the editor independent templates
