SHORT TERM SERVICE
Short-term service typically is service that happens infrequently, for a brief period of time. We are committed to offering these service experiences for those students who may be uncertain about how to get involved or just want to learn a little bit more about the community. These opportunities include our Into the Streets program along with Bear Blitz Service Trips.
LONG TERM COMMITMENT
Long-Term commitment is service that spans a semester or more. While students are often busy, we are committed to agencies for ongoing periods of time. We try to develop work plans that span months or years to commit to sustained community growth. Other long term commitments include our Social Change Leaders who will spend a semester or more doing service at one agency and having monthly dialogues around the relevant social issue.
IMMERSION TRIPS (ALTERNATIVE BREAKS)
Our Immersion Trips are a prime example where students immerse themselves in a culture and learn about what social issues affect a community. These immersion experiences explore cultural diversity, political and social issues, and work towards creating a stronger community through a community of active citizens
