Universal Design Initiatives

In 2004-2005, Katheryne Staeger-Wilson was selected to participate in the Association on Higher Education and Disability's (AHEAD) Universal Design Leadership Institute. Ever since, the Disability Resource Center has strived to incorporate Universal Design and a Socio-political Model of Disability. The information provided illustrates what action has been taken on the Missouri State campus to lay the foundation of this important paradigm shift. Justifications are also included for each action step to further clarify the importance of the change and rationale behind each one.
