What is Missouri Reverse Transfer?

Missouri Reverse TransferThe Missouri Reverse Transfer is a process that allows college students or former college students who have completed credits for an associates degree to receive that degree even if they have transferred to a different college or university, or dropped out of higher education altogether.

Eligibility for the Missouri Reverse Transfer

You must have earned a minimum of 15 credit hours at a single two-year institution to be eligible for a reverse transfer degree. Students are not eligible for the program if they currently possess an associate degree or higher.

In preparation for a statewide implementation in fall 2014, the Missouri Reverse Transfer program is in the pilot phase with the following institutional partners:

Missouri State University Ozarks Technical Community College
Northwest Missouri State University Metropolitan Community College

University of Missouri-St. Louis St. Louis Community College

If you are transferred to one of these four year institutions from a listed two-year partner in fall 2013, you
are eligible to participate in the pilot program currently underway. All other students will be eligible to
participate starting fall 2014.

Missouri State and the reverse transfer

Missouri State will work with students to help send transcripts to our partner two-year institutions in order to facilitate the reverse transfer process.

How to get started

Missouri Reverse Transfer is set up so that you as the student do not have to do a lot of work. We want this to be seamless and easy. You will need to give us permission to share your transcripts with your two-year college so please fill out this form and turn it into the Reverse Transfer Coordinator.
