The School of Social Work has two program tracts which lead to the MSW degree. Students who do NOT have a Bachelor degree in Social Work must apply to the Regular Program. Students with a BSW (or BA with a Social Work major) may apply to the Advanced Standing Program (see other criteria below). Both programs have a first pool, a second pool and a waiting list of candidates. All students who have completed applications by the deadline dates listed below will be considered for admission in the appropriate applicant pool for their respective programs. The MSW admissions committee then ranks each applicant by merit in each pool.
It is to your benefit to meet the deadline for the first pool of your program. If all available seats in your program are filled by first pool applicants, all other applicants will be put on the waiting list of their program, with second pool applicants listed higher than late applicants. The deadline dates for the Summer or Fall 2009 are:
Advanced Standing and Regular student Deadline
Applications are accepted after September 1st each year for the following academic year. The priority deadline for receipt of all application materials is Feb 15th. Due to limited enrollment for the MSW program (both Advanced Standing and the Regular Program), students who apply after the Feb 15th deadline are not guaranteed admission even if they meet all program admission requirements.
NOTE: Due to the limited enrollment for the MSW Program (both Advanced Standing and Regular Program) students who apply after the initial deadline are not guaranteed admission even if they meet all program admission requirements.
Please apply online at www.missouristate.edu/swk under MSW degree, admissions procedures, application form. Please mail paper applications to the following address:
