How can my son/daughter join a Greek organization?
The recruitment process is one of mutual selection. While all fraternities and sororities have recruitment during the entire academic year, Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Association hold a formalized recruitment process (formally known as Rush) at the beginning of the fall semester. A Greek brochure is sent to all interested incoming freshmen during the summer months and recruitment information is also included on the Missouri State Greek Life web page. An application is available in both these places as well. Your son or daughter will also learn about Greek Life during the new student orientation process (SOAR). During the first few days of classes, they will also have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Greek system through interaction at the Fall Recruitment Informational and other informational activities. NPHC and local fraternities and sororities hold their membership recruitment during the fall and spring semester as well. These organizations hold individual events, which vary depending upon the organization, to publicize their process.
