ABOUT THE AWARD
This award was created by the President of the United States to recognize individuals that have made a committment to their communities by volunteering their time.
REQUIREMENTS
The hours earned must be completed in a 12-month period.
Bronze: 100-174 hours
Silver: 175-249 hours
Gold: 250+ hours
GUIDELINES
Hours can be earned at non-profit, community and faith-based organizations, businesses, schools, colleges, membership and trade associations, and federal, state and local government agencies. They should qualify for one of these areas: youth achievement, parks & open spaces, healthy communities, and public safety and emergency response. The hours earned must be unpaid and may not be court-ordered.
