What is the Campus Volunteer Center?
The Campus Volunteer Center helps coordinate volunteer opportunities in and around Springfield for Missouri State University students, faculty, and staff. 

How does it work?

Non-Profit organizations in and around Springfield are able to post any volunteer opportunities that they have through our office.  These listings could be very specific or a general need for help.  They can be ongoing positions or one-time special events.


What is the process to finding volunteer opportunities?

You can check the volunteer listings by coming into the Campus Volunteer Center or online. Once you have found a listing online that you are interested in be sure to request a referral and contact the agency.  If you do not see a listing that interests you, or if you know that you would like to volunteer at a specific organization, you can schedule an appointment  and receive a referral that way.

Can I volunteer somewhere that will help my major?

There are various areas and organizations that you can volunteer.  We can usually find some an opportunity in the community that is associated with your academic major.

What agencies post listings?
Currently we have over 70 non-profit organizations that use our office to post their volunteer needs.

Are all of the volunteer opportunities off-campus?
No.  There are several opportunities to volunteer on/near campus for those who do not have transportation.

The Campus Volunteer Center is located inside the Student Employment Office in Blair-Shannon room 113.  You can call (417) 836-5627 to schedule an appointment.
