ONLINE INSTRUCTIONS FOR ON CAMPUS EMPLOYERS
In order to make use of the new online system, employers must have an email address. To begin listing your jobs go to:
http://www.missouristate.edu/studentemp
Requesting an Account
- Click “List a Job (For Employer)”
- Select “Log in as faculty, staff, or student”
- Enter private id and password
- Select “Create a New Employer”
- Enter Department Information (name, description, operating hours, website address, contact information)
- You may have more than one contact person if needed (check the box next to “primary” to indicate the primary contact person)
- To add multiple contacts
- log in with private id and password as before
- Select “Request Access to an Existing Employer” instead of “Create a New Employer”
- Find the department’s name.
- To get approval, someone with access to the account will have to sign in and approve the request.
At this point, Student Employment will be notified of your request and you will receive a confirmation email once approved to use the system. After confirmation you may return to list your job.
List your Jobs
- Log into the system with your Email and Password
- List job by clicking “Manage Jobs”
- Type in job title, description of duties, preferred student experience
- Check mark boxes relating to skills and type of job (these categories are used in the student job search)
- Add location of job, job start and end dates, work schedule, hours needed per week, pay rate
- Enter preferred time and method of contact using the drop-down menu
Each job that you list will also need to be approved by Student Employment Services. Once approved, students will be able to search through your job listings and will contact you directly by the preferred method you indicated.
Listing Information
- Check appropriate boxes for position information
- Wage-earning – compensation paid through departmental budgets

Work Study – Awarded by the Financial Aid Department to qualified students. Compensation does not come from departmental budgets.
- Publicly listed - available for students (jobs may be inactivated by checking no)
- No - Not available for student search, but job information remains
- Both Wage earning and Work Study boxes may be checked if the department is willing to hire either.
The hard copy of the Federal Work Study Employment Request must also be completed by the department and on file in the Student Employment Office.
Students that have been offered a position MUST obtain a work study referral letter and complete all necessary W-4 and I-9 forms in the Hiring Department in order to complete the hiring process.
