Becoming a global citizen is more than just her professional goal
Her career path led her to Hudiskvall, Sweden where she works as a drug and alcohol therapist.
Amber Cook completed her bachelor’s degree at Missouri State University in 2011 with a major in social work and a minor in religious studies. During her time as a student, Cook worked with
children and youth in Springfield and Billings through church outreach programs.
Cook has worked with unaccompanied, asylum-seeking youth in Sweden; Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian minority groups in Kosovo; and survivors of interpersonal violence in Boston.
She continues to seek opportunities for increasing her global awareness. After finishing ‘Swedish for Immigrants,’ she plans to continue to work with refugees and asylum-seekers within the district where she lives.
