Parents: We look forward to having you as part of the Missouri State community and hope to see you at SOAR this summer. We ask, however, that you allow your students to complete this online SOAR reservation as the process includes establishment of their computer and email account. It is important that students create and remember their user ID and password for each account.
As you make your SOAR session reservation online, please keep the following in mind:
- Create and memorize your Missouri State University computer and email (or Bearmail) account immediately after your SOAR session reservation by following the link on the SOAR session confirmation screen. You will need to use these accounts to access information at SOAR.
- Memorize your Personal Identification Number (PIN). You will also use this number at SOAR.
- Print a parking permit for your scheduled SOAR session by clicking the “Get Parking Pass” button on the SOAR session confirmation screen. You may re-enter the system to print new parking passes if your session date changes or your copy is misplaced.
- If any aspect of your reservation (such as your major or number of guests attending) changes prior to attending, please remember to change you reservation information at least five business days before your scheduled session date.
After your reservation is confirmed, please consider the following as you prepare for your SOAR session:
- Identify whether you are required to take the math placement exam at SOAR and make appropriate plans. Please note that the math placement exam begins early in the first day of your SOAR session. More information can be found on the SOAR Math Placement Exam page.
- Decide whether you want to take the foreign language placement exam. You should consider taking this exam if you have had two or more years of high school language studies in French, German, or Spanish. The exam should be taken online prior to your SOAR by visiting www.missouristate.edu/lrc/placement.htm.
- Complete either a Housing Contract or an Exception to the University Housing Policy Form with Residence Life and Services. Request that your final transcripts from your high school or any institutions granting you college credit be sent to the Office of Admissions before you attend SOAR.
- Discuss Missouri State’s Choice and Predictability in Tuition (CAP-IT) program with your family. CAP-IT gives students and their families more options in how they pay for and structure their tuition. You will be asked to choose a tuition plan option before registering for courses at SOAR, so you should talk about your options and come to a decision prior to arriving at SOAR. More information can be found at the link above.
