

Whether you are a general business or finance major, a minor in accounting provides you with a working knowledge of the fundamentals of accounting. This knowledge will assist you in preparing budgets, managing business finances and analyzing financial statements.
If you are a student in the College of Business, you may take courses to satisfy both your major and minor requirements, therefore completing the minor in accounting in 6-12 additional hours. If you are not a student in the College of Business, the accounting minor is a 15-18 hour program.
To complete a minor in accounting, you must take the following courses:
ACC 201(3)*, 211(3)*, 301(3)
* ACC 206(4) may be substituted for ACC 201 and 211
To add a minor, visit the Academic Advisement Center in University Hall 109. You may need to receive a signature from the head of the School of Accountancy to authorize the addition of an accounting minor.
