Reported Off-Campus Shooting Incident

Early today, two men reported to the Springfield Police Department that they were robbed near campus. The men, who are both students at MSU, report they were sitting on a park bench in the area of E. Walnut and Hammons Parkway, at approximately 3 am, when they were approached by two suspects that got out of a vehicle.The suspects approached them and demanded money, threatening to shoot them, however no weapons were ever seen or displayed. The suspects were described as white males, early 20's, and the vehicle was described as a maroon or dark red 4-door, similar to a PT Cruiser.

This case is under current investigation by the Springfield Police Department. If you have any information as to the identity of these two suspects, please call the Springfield Police Department at 864-1810, or the MSU Substation at 836-5509.
