Springfield News-Leader Faith Section Paid Internship

Deadline for applying for this internship has passed (November 6, 2013)

The Springfield News-Leader is offering a paid internship for Spring 2014 (20 hours a week), that will continue into the summer (40 hours a week).  The intern will work with the Life section editor and report for the Faith page, as well as have the opportunity to write other feature stories.

The most competitive candidates will have writing ability, have taken at least some basic journalism classes, and have some reporting experience already from school.  Students in their second semester of sophomore year and beyond will be considered.

Please visit the News-Leader's website for the Internship Position Description (#22785) and Application.

The internship is open to any student, but preference will be given to Religious Studies majors and minors.

Interested students should also fill out our Religious Studies application and work with one of our professors (Lora Hobbs, Micki Pulleyking, or John Strong) to set up an independent study, REL 399, to receive academic credit for this internship.  Please contact one of these professors if you have any questions!
