Spring 2009 Registration Guide

Class Schedules and Registration Information

  • The Summer and Fall 2009 web class schedules are now available. The Online Permission Systems are also active.
  • Summer 2009 information is now displayed in most places on the Phoenix and web systems where Summer 2008 was previously displayed. This includes popular items such as STDT 22, web student schedules, class lists, etc.
  • Summer sequenced registration begins March 6, 2009. Students/Advisors are able to view the student’s registration date and time on the web through the Student Advising Notes & Releases and Registration Status pages.  These pages indicate whether a release is required, completed, or not required.  Advisor release is required for all freshmen, sophomores, graduate students, first-time transfer students, and students currently on probation.
  • Fall sequenced registration begins April 6, 2009.  Students/Advisors are able to view the student's registration date and time by accessing:   http://apps.missouristate.edu/registrar/regsequencefa09.asp

Hold (Encumbrances)

  • Students/Advisors can view the encumbrances for a student on the Registration status option in My Information and/or the F/ARC.  Please help your students know what the Hold (encumbrance) codes mean and which encumbrances will stop a student from registering.  Also, encourage your students to use the Registration Status option that lists all encumbrances instead of the Account Balance option, which lists financial encumbrances only.
  • “DG” and “DX” encumbrances have been updated for the Summer 2009 registration period. A “DG” encumbrance means the student has more than 60 hours and has not been admitted to their degree program. A “DX” encumbrance means the student has more than 90 hours and has not been admitted to their degree program. The Office of the Registrar has sent emails to students with these encumbrances encouraging them to complete the process of admission to their degree program.
  • Students granted Temporary Clearance to register with a “DG” or “DX” encumbrance may bring (or department or Dean’s office may send) the completed clearance form to Carrington 320 in advance of their registration date and time.  The Office of the Registrar staff will remove the “DG” or “DX” encumbrance, thereby allowing students the opportunity to use the web registration system. The Office of the Registrar will repost DG/DX encumbrances, as appropriate, prior to the next registration cycle.
