Intramural Awards

These awards are to recognize teams and individuals who exemplify the Intramural Sports program through athleticism, leadership and sportsmanship.  Each spring the top male and female are recognized, along with the top intramural teams in each division listed below.


 Intramural Sportsmanship Man and Woman of the Year:

These two awards will be presented to the man and woman demonstrating the highest level of excellence in sportsmanship.   Award winners will be determined by attitude, cooperation, spirit of fair play, enthusiasm, loyalty and representation of the overall Intramural Sports Program.  Nominations will be accepted from and voted on by IM staff.


Intramural Championship Teams of the Year:

Each year teams are recognized for their achievement within Intramural Sports.  The performance of each team is tracked throughout the year, across a number of sports each semester.  Those teams with the best records accumulate the most points and get the honor of being recognized for their achievements.

Award winners from each division will be determined by the Intramural Sports point system below.  The divisions are as follows:

Point Distribution:
  • If an organization is represented by more than one team, points will be awarded based on the team with the best record.
  • For accurate determination of winners, teams are encouraged to use the same team name across all sports.
  • Points will be awarded for the following league sports:
    • Fall: Flag Football, Softball, Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee
    • Spring: Basketball, Soccer, Sand Volleyball 
Intramural Sports Point System
50 pts – Participation
30 pts – 1st place in regular season league
20 pts – 2nd place in regular season league
50 pts – 1st place in playoffs
40 pts – 2nd place in playoffs
-25 pts – per forfeit
-25 pts – per ejected player

NOTE:  If teams play under different names for the sports listed above, it is their responsibility to notify the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation so that points are awarded accordingly.
