Recreation Center Student Committee

POWER (Promoting Opportunities for Wellness, Exercise, and Recreation)


This committee is devised to provide information on various facets of recreation operations and to promote fitness and recreation opportunties at Missouri State University.  Meetings will be held once a month, and work-groups will be assigned based on interest from committee members and needs. POWER became a student organization the summer of 2011.
In 2010 - 2011, the Recreation Center Student Committee will be charged with the following tasks this up and coming school year:

  1. Obtain information to lead forums for students to provide information about the history of and operations, facilities, and makeup of the new MSU Recreation Center.

  2. Provide input regarding fitness equipment (cardiovascular and strength training options), which will include setting up the delivery of “test” pieces and visiting facilities to tryout equipment pieces

  3. Provide input regarding facilities and operational policies (i.e. workout attire policy, facility space policies, rental of space policies)

As the committee continues to work throughout the semester/year, these tasks will be updated and added to based upon progress and new inquiries.

Our first meeting this Fall Semester will be on Thurs., Sept. 15th at 5:15pm in Plaster Student Union room 315A.
