One of the most exciting initiatives at Missouri State University is our effort to support the study of learning outcomes and the instructional strategies that contribute to learning. In many ways it was this commitment that led to the establishment of the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning. Support to faculty is provided through a variety of sources, including curricular grants from the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning and the Center for Citizenship and Service Learning. The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning is represented in our Futures Initiatives, which supports interdisciplinary projects and programs over a multiyear period. Each semester, the Showcase on Teaching and Learning highlights the best practices of our faculty from across the university.
The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Conference takes place April 2, 3, and 4, 2009 at the University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Springfield, Mo. The theme is: Fostering the scholarship of teaching and learning through student and faculty partnerships. For more information, contact the Academic Development Center, 417-836-3059.
