The Intellectual Property Review Committee was created to review and revise the current intellectual property policy (dated 2000). The current policy is in places difficult to interpret, not as employee friendly as it might be, and has very little information on patents.
The IP Review Committee drafted a new policy that addresses these and other shortcomings of the current policy. Below you will find a short history of the current policy, background on how the policy is being revised, and a summary of the major changes in the draft of the new policy. Links to the draft of the new intellectual property creation policy and the intellectual property use policy, as well as the current intellectual property policy, are below.
The committee is asking for feedback from the campus community before it takes its draft to the May 6th meeting of the Faculty Senate for its approval.
