Academic Interests

  • Geology—Volcanology, Isotope and Trace Element Geochemistry/ Igneous Petrology/ and Mineralogy
  • I like to apply isotope geochemistry to novel topics in the Earth Sciences. In particular I am interested in trace element and isotopic variation in minerals to determine the timescales and processes that take place in volcanic systems that can lead to eruptions.

Previous Experience

  • Teaching/ Research Assistant at both Montana State University (2009-2013) and New Mexico State University (2008-2009)
  • Environmental Scientist at the Mannik and Smith Group, INC (2006-2007)
  • Commissioned Officer in the Army National Guard (2003-present)

Life Outside the University

I have a new wife with whom I am starting my new life with. Both of us enjoy similar interests that we would like to explore here in Springfield. I also will be continuing service with the Army National Guard for the foreseeable future.
