Ozarks Local Business Fair

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009, 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM, PSU 2nd Floor

Springfield has a number of local businesses providing services ranging from natural foods and fair trade items to automobile repair and recycled ink cartridges. Shopping at local businesses is an easy way to support and promote your local economy! Inc. magazine recently recognized Springfield as a top 15 city in America for doing business, so come out and see what the Ozarks has to offer.
Come check out what local businesses (
including:1984 Arcade; Global Fayre; The Skinny Improv; Vintage Vice; Swagbot; Hearts of Fire Tattoo; Indie Boutique; Ampersand; Fishingcross; Springfield Hot Glass Studio; Staxx; and Community Blood Center of the Ozarks) have to offer!

Hearts of Fire will be doing a drawing for a free tattoo and 1984 will have 80s arcade games at the fair. Also, businesses will be handing out information about the local springfield business scene.

Looking for a way to give back to your community? Come visit local non-profit agencies at the Volunteer Fair and see what opportunities are available to serve the Springfield area and gain invaluable experience. A list of participating agencies will be available soon.


Constitution Day, Thursday, September 17th, 2009

11:00 AM, Outside Plaster Student Union

As part of the Constitution Day tradition, schools across the country have a public reading of the Constitution. This year, Dr. Nietzel, Dave Embree, Dr. Rachelle Darabi, Dr. Belinda McCarthy, Dean Mike Jungers, Dr. Earle Doman, and SGA President Chris Polley will be celebrating sections of our Constitution in front of the Plaster Student Union. Please come out and support our President as he recites this historic document!


Citizenship Fair

10:30 AM to 2:00 PM, PSU 2nd Floor

Are you Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Independent, Green Party, or undecided? Do you live in the U.S.A.? If so, Come out and support your local political party, or find out more information about how to get involved at the local level. There will be representatives from established parties as well as student organizations to help you get information and get involved.
