CPR Policy and Information



American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers classes are the second Monday of every month during the Spring semester for both the new certification and recertification classes. Be sure to review the Department of Nursing CPR Certification Policy before choosing the appropriate course.


Spring 2014 Schedule


Payment is required before you can register for either class.  No refunds will be given.


Cost for the course is $35.00 (payable by cash, check or money order only, made out to the Department of Nursing - CPR course). An additional cost of $3.00 (cash only) for the CPR card is required.

CPR Skills/Recertification Course: Prof 428, 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Online CPR Course:  Prof 430, 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.

The website is available at the following: www.onlineaha.org.  The Department of Nursing only accepts this online course.

There are 3 parts to the on-line course:

  • Part 1. Online Cognitive Course and Written Test. Upon successful completion of Part 1, student should print the completion certificate and bring it to the BLS Instructor appointment. Cost for the online course is approximately $22.00 (prices subject to change).
  • Part 2. Practice Session. This allows the student to practice the physical skills the student learned online, ask questions, and receive instruction from the BLS Instructor. Cost for this is $35.00 (payable by cask, check or money order only, made out to the Department of Nursing - CPR course).
  • Part 3. BLS Instructor will test the student. When student passes the test, the cost for the CPR card is $3.00 (cash only).

Classes are scheduled from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Appointments are in 40 minute increments for recertification and 60 minute increments for new certifications.
