Department of Nursing

Excellence in Nursing Education

Dr. Kathryn L. Hope

Head, Department of Nursing

The Department of Nursing, located in the heart of the Ozarks, provides exciting undergraduate and graduate programs. At the undergraduate level, the Department offers a 4-year Generic BSN program for those with little or no college education to gain the skills needed to become a registered nurse, a BSN completion program for RNs with associate or diploma degrees, and coordinates a health care management minor for nursing and non-nursing majors. At the graduate level, the Department offers a MSN with specialization as a nurse educator or as a family nurse practitioner, and post-master's certificate programs in both specializations. Our BSN and MSN programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

All of the programs in the Department of Nursing are community-based.  Students have the opportunities to work with clients, families, and populations throughout the region in a variety of settings.

The Department of Nursing fosters professional growth and development, and skills for life-long learning. Our graduates hold prominent leadership and management, and clinical practice positions throughout the region and the United States.  Many of our graduates pursue further education after graduation.

The faculty in the Department have educational degrees from major institutions throughout the United States.  The faculty hold awards for teaching, service, and research.

We are proud of our students and programs, and look forward to participating in your educational quest.

All programs are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).  The 4 year Generic BSN Program has approval from the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
