We do this by monitoring the health of our community, identifying and responding to health threats, providing timely and accurate information, enforcing laws that protect health and providing quality services to prevent and control disease.
Services Provided
The Health Department provides services such as immunizations, STD/HIV testing, Building Blocks program for first-time parents, health education, restaurant inspections, flu vaccinations, emergency response team, health screenings and services for the minority population, tobacco enforcement program, child care provider programs, women, infants and child (WIC), lead poisoning prevention, and animal control.

The department serves the city and county with a combined population of approximately 245,000 people.
