Mission

The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children in the Ozarks. The Ronald McDonald House offers families a place to stay when their child is hospitalized in an area far from their residence. Each family is asked to pay $7.00 per night, however, no families are turned away due to inability to pay. The Ronald McDonald House provides each family with a room as well as laundry facilities and a community kitchen. “Nearly every evening (97% of nights last year), volunteers and community groups prepare and serve a home cooked meal that is available to all of the families.”

Population Served

Families with children 18 and under (including pre-birth) who are receiving treatment at a medical facility in Springfield are welcome. Children receiving outpatient care may also stay with their families at the Ronald McDonald House. If a family is aware that they will be traveling to Springfield seeking medical care for the child, they may make plans to stay at the Ronald McDonald House through a referral from the child’s nurse, social worker, or doctor prior to arrival.
